With the launch of Liric, Meze Audio finally presents a closed-back, isodynamic headphone. It’s beem three years in the making, and the result is remarkable. With clear inspiration from the high-end Empyrean and Elite headphones, the Liric offers tremendous performance, high-quality materials and a multi-sensory experience.
Meze Audio once again tapped Rinaro Isodynamics to purvey driver technology for their new headphone. The MZ4 Hybrid Array driver is a scaled down version of what is found in the Empyrean, with an audio experience comparable to its larger counterpart. The addition of the Phase-X system improves spatial imaging and achieves a more linear phase response and a faster transient response decay. This allows for a more faithful reproduction of transient sounds and enhances ambience and takes the listener closer to the environment of the original source recording.
Meze Audio Liric is made with high-quality materials. The skeleton is finished in magnesium that offers low weight, shock resistance and is free of oxidation, while offering an ideal fit for long listening sessions. Yokes are made from aluminum and the headband from spring steel. The headband is padded with symmetrically placed cushions in a ‘+’ shape to allow for improved air flow, lowering the heat buildup.
Meze Liric is easily adjustable for a sturdy, yet comfortable feel that fits most head shapes. The choice of an ovoid shaped ear cup surrounds your ears closely without adding unnecessary pressure or weight. It offers deeper sound and a better passive sound isolation. This headphone is an easy load on the amplifier, making it perfect for home use, as well as on the go. Combine it with a DAP or an amplifier/DAC combo, and get ready to experience the next level of closed-back headphone technology.
