The 2MR series are specially designed for turntables and tonearms like Rega, matching their requirement for low formfactor cartridges. The cartridges fit onto the tonearm without need for spacers or other modifications.
Black is the pinnacle of the 2M series phono cartridges from Ortofon, and represents some of the best performance available in the moving magnet category. Ortofon 2M Black comes with a stylus identical to the one that sits on the MC Jubilee cartridge. The slim, highly polished Shibata diamond has a wide surface contact area with the groove walls, and delivers incredible performance all over the frequency range. The cartridge body is made from Hopelex, an environmentally friendly material, that excels in terms of rigidity and a low resonance.
Ortofon 2M Black’s design has been optimized for easy mounting and the size and weight, fits most common turntables on the market today. It comes in three different mounting variants including verso and PNP.
