Advanced WRD system
One of the key features of the Ortofon MC 90X is the use of the Wide Range Damping (WRD) system, which ensures an exceptional linear frequency response and an extended upper frequency range. The advanced WRD system includes a platinum disc placed between two rubber absorbers, providing superior tracking and effective resonance control across the frequency spectrum. Ortofon's proprietary rubber compound helps elevate the performance to the next level, with optimized damping that reduces distortion and enhances transparency and precision. The MC 90X is fitted with the exclusive Replicant 100 diamond, known for its thin, lightweight profile and exceptionally large contact surface in the groove. By using a stylus whose profile closely matches that of the cutting head used to create the lacquer master, the most authentic groove reproduction is achieved. Combined with a special polishing process and a boron cantilever, the Replicant 100 ensures remarkable transparency, speed, and responsiveness.
