Technics SC-C70 MK2
All-in-one, sleek, high-performance audio system with built-in speakers
Mini and combo systems are rarely the most exciting products we see, but once in a while, we encounter one that’s done right—like the Technics SC-C70 MK2. The Technics SC-C70 MK2 delivers an impressive sound experience with a wide soundstage and a well-defined bass. Behind the front grille, the unit features two tweeters and two midrange drivers. Additionally, a downward-firing woofer provides rich and deep bass.
All the modern streaming features
This "all-in-one" system comes with built-in speakers and a wide array of features. For streaming, you're well-covered with Spotify, Tidal, and Internet radio. For local sources, you can stream via DLNA (e.g., from a NAS server), AirPlay from Apple devices, or Bluetooth. Everything can be controlled via Technics' highly acclaimed app, available for both iOS and Android. A physical remote control is also included, so you're never without control, even if your phone isn't handy. If you've misplaced both your phone and remote, basic functions can still be managed through a touch-sensitive panel on top of the unit, where you’ll also find a "FAV" button for assigning your favorite playlist or radio station.
CD Playback and High-Quality Sound
Technics embraces modern features but hasn't forgotten about those with a valuable CD collection. CDs remain a high-quality source of sound, and thanks to the built-in subwoofer, the CD drive is mounted using Sorbothane to absorb any vibrations from the speaker units.
Don’t Forget Good Old-Fashioned Radio
In this age of streaming, it’s important not to overlook radio. The Technics SC-C70 MK2 has it all—FM radio and DAB, including the new DAB+ format. If that's not enough, you also get access to thousands of free internet radio stations, offering everything from rock, pop, and techno to jazz and classical music. With Hi-Res Audio compatibility, you can play music files at higher-than-CD quality via the network function and USB input. It supports everything from 192/24-bit WAV files to DSD256 (5.6448MHz).
SpaceTune for Optimal Sound
It’s rare to place your speakers in the perfect spot in a room, but you don’t have to worry with the Technics SC-C70 MK2. It features SpaceTune, which automatically calibrates the sound to suit its location—whether near a wall, in a corner, or in the open. This can be managed via the app, and if you have an iPad or iPhone, you can use its microphone for more precise tuning. Android users can select from three preset positions. The Technics SC-C70 MK2 is an incredibly interesting product that successfully combines various Hi-Fi principles into a single unit. It delivers a wide soundstage that, in some cases, can almost be mistaken for a setup with two separate "real" speakers. - Network connection via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
