Hans Theessink – Slow Train
Outstanding Recording on High-Quality Vinyl
If you’ve ever visited our store, there’s a good chance you’ve heard Hans Theessink’s album Slow Train. It’s one of the albums we play frequently, largely due to the exceptional quality of this particular pressing. The album was pressed by Schallplattenfabrik Pallas GmbH in Germany, a company renowned for their outstanding vinyl quality.
Using the Direct Metal Mastering technique, this pressing ensures that as little information as possible is lost from the original master tape. The music is pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl for a superior listening experience. The Dutch-born, Vienna-based singer and guitarist Hans Theessink excels at blending blues, folk, and world music genres. On Slow Train, he is joined by three African vocalists, creating a sound reminiscent of Ry Cooder’s early albums and Paul Simon’s Graceland. All instruments and vocals were recorded live with no post-production dubbing, resulting in an incredibly vivid and authentic listening experience.
