The Silver 100, the large standmount speaker in the Silver series, has consistently been one of the most popular models. Despite its relatively compact size, this speaker delivers immense power, body, and depth. The Monitor Audio Silver 100 can be placed on a dedicated speaker stand or on furniture such as a sideboard or bookshelf. Thanks to its larger cabinet and bigger bass/midrange driver, the Silver 100 is capable of producing a significantly fuller sound compared to the smaller Silver 50. It is ideal for those who want the performance of a floorstanding speaker but don’t have the space for one. The speaker is available in several elegant finishes, including black or white lacquer, as well as a selection of real wood veneers.
2-Way Design with Advanced Solutions
The Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G features a 2-way design equipped with the newly developed C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter with Uniform Dispersion Waveguide II. The ceramic-coated aluminum tweeter delivers precise and highly detailed high frequencies, ensuring that every nuance is captured—whether you’re rediscovering a favorite album, immersing yourself in a game, or getting swept away by the latest Hollywood blockbuster.
Upgraded RST II Bass/Midrange for Reduced Distortion
Beneath the tweeter, you’ll find another proprietary Monitor Audio technology: the legendary **C-CAM RST II 8” bass/midrange driver. The diaphragm is crafted from a composite of aluminum and magnesium, finished with a ceramic coating. If you look closely, you may notice the small indentations on the diaphragm. This Rigid Surface Technology (RST) was originally developed for the C-CAM driver in the fourth generation of the Silver series but has now been refined. Instead of round indentations, the new design features hexagonal shapes that further reinforce the diaphragm. This is the core principle behind **RST II technology**, inspired by Japanese origami. The stiffer the diaphragm, the lighter the material can be used in the construction. With less mass for the driver’s motor to move, precision and speed are increased, while distortion is minimized.
