Warm, authentic sound from Yamaha A-S2200
The Yamaha A-S2200 delivers warmth, richness, and musicality that digital amplifier solutions can only dream of providing. Yet, while the exterior of the A-S2200 is pure nostalgia, its internals are far from being pulled from the 1970s. The amplifier is packed with top-class components and developed using the latest technologies. The Class A/B architecture is powered by a custom-built toroidal transformer and can deliver 160 watts at four ohms. So, almost regardless of which speakers you have or plan to purchase, you can be assured that the A-S2200 will have no trouble providing sufficient power for them.
Sturdy cabinet and quality components
The robust aluminum cabinet, designed according to Yamaha's "Mechanical Fundamental Concept," rests on silver-plated brass feet that are welded directly to the supporting structure to minimize vibrations. The same applies to the heat sink, power supply, and block capacitors, all aimed at enhancing sound quality and performance. All jacks and terminals are gold-plated for optimal signal integrity, and the internal wiring from the speaker terminals is made with 2.7mm pure CCC copper. On the back, you'll find four pairs of single-ended RCA inputs and a set of balanced XLR inputs. There is also a dedicated turntable input with MM and MC amplification, selectable from the front of the A-S2200.
The front panel also features an excellent headphone output with gain adjustment, allowing for compatibility with a wide range of different models. The Yamaha A-S2200 is not just an amplifier. It is a communicator of emotions in the audiovisual realm. Because that is what music truly is. Strip it away layer by layer, instrument by instrument. In the end, you'll be left with the raw material—another human being who has chosen to enrich you, us, with their thoughts and music. And such art deserves to be treated with respect. With the Yamaha A-S2200, you are well on your way to providing music with the very best platform to unfold. Just add your preferred source and a pair of speakers.
