Technics SU-R1000
Integrated amplifier combining nostalgia and high-end innovation in one device!
It has been a long time since Technics ventured into the high-end spectrum of the Hi-Fi market, and making a return to this territory requires a bold approach. But with the SU-R1000, Technics announces its comeback, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind! The Technics SU-R1000 is a true statement amplifier when you look at the technology under the hood. While it doesn't use the traditional Class A/B technology, Technics didn’t just buy an existing solution to modify. No, that wasn’t good enough! Instead, Technics has taken PWM technology to new heights with proprietary innovations, such as their JENO engine, LAPC, and ADC technology. This suggests that Technics has cracked the code for one of the most promising amplifier technologies, as the result is an incredibly detailed, crystal-clear, and smooth sound, demonstrating that the signal remains almost entirely undisturbed in its journey from source to speaker.
Packed with Technics-developed technologies
So, what exactly have the magicians at Technics done to make the SU-R1000 the high-end powerhouse we believe it is? First, the amplifier uses the finest version of their JENO engine, an active circuit designed to reduce jitter across the entire audible range. This contributes to its remarkably effortless and transparent sound reproduction, free from any harshness or muddiness. Additionally, their Active Distortion Cancelling Technology (ADCT) measures the output from the amplifier’s stage and compares it with the JENO engine, then corrects any noise. The result is incredibly precise reproduction and a vast, deep soundstage with truly lifelike three-dimensionality.
LAPC optimizes the amplifier for your speakers
Of course, top-quality components are used throughout the entire SU-R1000, including a switch-mode power supply, where Technics has managed to reduce ripple noise to an extremely low level. For instance, the power supply operates well beyond the audible range, ensuring incredible purity in sound. Their well-known LAPC system optimizes the amplifier’s performance according to the speaker's impedance curve, tightening the bass, improving precision, and releasing power for dynamic bursts.
Balanced and single-ended phono stage for MM and MC cartridges
Even though Technics has rolled out its full digital arsenal, vinyl enthusiasts are not forgotten. The SU-R1000 features a beautifully crafted balanced analog-to-digital RIAA preamp for turntables. In addition to having its own dedicated power supply circuit to isolate it from the rest of the amplifier, Technics has developed a fully discrete design with symmetrical circuits built to the highest tolerances.
