Simaudio MOON 340i X
High-end integrated amplifier
Do you know the feeling when you’ve listened to a track enough times and finally feel like you’ve figured out how it’s supposed to sound? Well, then we have both good and bad news for you, because the Neo 340i will be both a frustrating and fantastic experience for you at the same time. Not only are we dealing with an integrated amplifier that delivers high-end level detail, but also one where you may occasionally be astonished by the eerie clarity in the midrange
Lifelike music experiences
Perhaps the sound can be summed up with the word “lifelike,” and that’s actually a greater compliment than you might think. The ability to make an amplifier sound lifelike is a special art that involves much more than just picking the best components and putting them together. There’s matching, listening, measuring, testing, matching, listening... you get the idea. With the Neo 340i, MOON has, for instance, chosen to run it with a high bias voltage, so it essentially operates in Class-A mode up to 5 watts. This provides natural tightness and control in the sound even at limited listening levels, but plenty of power when needed. These types of solutions require more than just a “my toroidal transformer is bigger than yours” approach to amplifier design. It has to be implemented in a way that ensures the transition between Class-A and A/B is so smooth that there is practically no audible difference. It’s also worth mentioning that MOON has managed to keep the operating temperature remarkably low on the Neo 340i, which benefits durability in the long run. All of this is the result of many years of experience, culminating in some of the finest Hi-Fi craftsmanship money can buy.
Expandable with DAC
Add to this the option to purchase it with a top-tier integrated DSD/DXD-compatible DAC, allowing you to connect a streamer, CD player, TV, or similar device to the MOON Neo 340i X and enjoy the incredible fluidity and exceptionally high resolution it can deliver. The dual-mono design and MOON’s proprietary bipolar output transistors contribute to improving channel separation and lowering noise levels to an incredibly low point. You can also opt for a built-in high-quality RIAA preamp that supports both MM and MC cartridges, and you can plug in a good pair of headphones to enjoy music through them as well. The Moon Neo 340i is available in silver, silver-black, and all-black. You can find integrated amplifiers from several leading brands in our selection.
