Streaming Features of Cambridge Audio EVO 150
Streaming has become the primary source of music for most people, but streaming is much more than just a simple connection to a server from a streaming service. It must be done properly, ensuring sound quality, user-friendliness, and presentation. With the Cambridge Audio EVO 150, you can connect to your favorite service and gain access to millions of musical albums*, beautifully displayed on the 6.8-inch color screen. You get built-in StreamMagic, which, with ten years of development behind it, is among the best platforms on the market. The platform is continually updated with new features, streaming services, and support for new audio formats. As of now, it supports TIDAL, Qobuz, and Spotify. Additionally, you have access to thousands of radio stations. StreamMagic can be controlled via a phone or tablet, available for both iOS and Android. A ‘real’ remote control is also included with the EVO 150.
Streaming - Also from Local Sources
Local streaming is certainly not forgotten! The Cambridge Audio EVO 150 is also ready for ROON and DLNA, handling a plethora of formats from MP3 to DSD and MQA. You can stream audio from your iPhone or iPad via Apple AirPlay, and if you have an Android device, you'll enjoy integrated Chromecast. Bluetooth aptX HD is also available. Network connection can be done wirelessly or with a cable. If you have external audio sources you want to connect, this can easily be done via cable to the EVO 150. You can choose from optical TosLink, coaxial S/PDIF, a pair of analog RCA inputs, and balanced XLR. A USB input allows for direct connection of a PC or Mac to the EVO 150. With this compact system, it's also natural to want to enhance the sound from your TV. This is easily handled with an HDMI input featuring Audio Return Channel. A compatible TV can send audio directly via HDMI cable to the EVO 150. Cambridge Audio has developed a CD transport specifically for this amplifier, and you can find the Evo CD here.
Built-in Phono Amplifier
Vinyl is fantastic, and fortunately, Cambridge Audio hasn’t forgotten it. The EVO 150 has built-in amplification for Moving Magnet cartridges, allowing you to connect your turntable without needing an external RIAA amplifier. The Cambridge Audio EVO 150 is built around a Hypex NCore Class-D amplifier, delivering up to 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms. This compact solution is both energy-efficient and capable of delivering rich, well-resolved sound with great musicality. The powerful EVO 150 is equipped with two sets of speaker terminals, so you can connect two sets of speakers.
