Yamaha M-5000

High-end power amplifier

Have you had your eye on the Yamaha A-S3200, but do you want something offering a little more punch, even higher sound quality and visual presence? - well, there is no way around the pre and power amplifier combo in the top series from Yamaha!

With the M-5000, the Japanese engineers at Yamaha have dug deep into the bag of experience and crafted an incredibly beautiful power amplifier. The first thing you notice of course, is the large window to the VU meters that adorns the front. A power amplifier shouldn't just be a big, boring block with two LEDs and a button. It should be part of the experience of listening to music, and even if it is the system's task to 'disappear' and let the artist step into the foreground, it does not hurt to have a pair of dancing VU meters to spice up the visual experience. The Yamaha M-5000 is created to match the Yamaha C-5000 preamplifier in both sound and design.

Symmetrically designed for highest quality performance

The Yamaha M-5000 is carefully constructed with a symmetrical structure, for optimal separation of the right and left channels, both physically and electrically. This type of construction also helps to shorten signal paths, reduce energy loss, and ensure a lower impedance for better sound and performance. The core of the amplifier is a massive toroidal power supply which guarantees lightning-fast voltage delivery and is designed with minimal flux leakage and energy loss. The large block capacitors are connected with heavy-duty cables via brass terminals and screws, instead of soldering, which also ensures a strong, low-impedance connection.

Beautiful case design and copper-clad chassis

The cabinet of the Yamaha M-5000 is almost a story in itself and has been developed on the basis of the company's Basic Mechanical Concept, where the focus is on the rigidity of the construction, reduction of vibrations, shielding of sound-critical components. Block capacitors, toroidal power supply and cooling fins are bolted directly to the chassis for high stability. The front of the case is adorned by the large measuring instrument, which can be seen behind the 7mm thick glass panel, manufactured especially for Yamaha by Asahi Glass, one of the world's largest manufacturers of glass. On the back of the cabinet, you will find all the connection options. For the speakers, Yamaha has chosen some extremely powerful, oversized screw terminals which are milled from a massive block of brass. For connecting the preamplifier, you have the choice between a set of balanced XLR and a set of single-ended RCA. Trigger in and out ensures user-friendly operation between the two devices.
