Yamaha C-5000
High-end preamplifier
The perfect partner for the Yamaha M-5000 power amplifier and the finest piece of electronics in Yamaha's portfolio. The C-5000 is built with fully balanced circuit design throughout all stages of the signal path, with fluid construction from the phono stage to the line amplifier to eliminate ground noise. With each channel physically separated, you are guaranteed the best possible channel separation, with imaging carved in granite, exactly as it was produced. The Yamaha C-5000 is equipped with two independent toroidal power supplies, one for each of the channels, which are encased in a copper-plated housing that prevents flux leakage and vibrations from affecting the sensitive audio circuits.
A true flagship design
With a very well-thought-out cabinet construction, as we have also seen on the A-S3200, Yamaha is not only a delight for the ears but also for the eyes. With luxurious rotary knobs and rocker switches, the control amplifier has an original and complete design that helps to enhance the user experience. Inside the beautiful cabinet the prints, power supplies etc. are mounted directly on a copper-plated chassis, where strong cables with screw mounting instead of soldering ensure the optimal connection for the signal. As a true flagship model, there is not a detail that has not been considered. This of course also applies to the feet on which the Yamaha C-5000 stands, which are specially made for the finest models from Yamaha and made of brass.
Nice selection of inputs on the Yamaha C-5000
The Yamaha C-5000 has a nice selection of analog inputs, benefiting from two pairs of balanced XLR and four pairs of single-ended RCA. In addition, there is a phono input with support for both MM- and MC-type cartridges, where for the latter you can choose between four load levels. There has also been made room for a headphone output with gain settings in four levels. The preamplifier comes with a remote control, which also works with select CD players, tuners, etc. from Yamaha. However, we are pretty sure that you will quickly become so captivated by the 'beast' that you would rather control it via the tactile buttons on the front than on a remote control.
