Technics SL-1210G
High-end direct drive turntable
The SL-1210G is a Grand Class turntable from Technics, inspired by their 2016 limited edition SL-1200GAE. Being a direct drive design, it has some advantages compared to beltdrive turntables. The use of a coreless direct-drive motor eliminates cogging, the problem with rotation irregularity that is seen on other types of turntables.
The twin-rotor construction reduces the load on the bearing, while maintaining high torque and reducing rotation vibration. The motor control on the SL-1210G is actually taken directly from control technology built for Blu-ray players, that require extreme precision. The platter is a three-layer die-cast construction made from brass and aluminum. Inert rubber covers the rear surface to eliminate resonance, achieving high rigidity and vibration damping.
The Technics SL-1210G come with a high-quality, lightweight tonearm made from magnesium, which has a high damping effect. Advanced gimbal suspension construction with horizontal and vertical rotation axis intersection, ensures precise tracking in the groove of the record.
This turntable does not come with a phono cartridge.
