The Rega Planar 3, or Planar Three, replaces the legendary RP3, a task that was never going to be easy, considering the popularity of that model. With two years of development Rega has achieved the impossible with the biggest redesign of the 'Three' model ever. Rega's development team have worked tirelessly improving every aspect of the Planar Three model offering improved ergonomics, usability and sonic performance. Clever use of lightweight particulate core with a high-rigidity phenolic resin skin lays the foundation of the incredible performance.
This latest entry in the 'Three Series' takes these design elements to the next level. The acrylic laminated plinth is strengthened using a new and improved double brace system, mounted exactly where it's required, between the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing. Rega Planar 3 comes with the latest version of the RB300 series tonearm, the RB330, that was designed using the latest 3D CAD and CAM technology, and is the culmination of more than 35 years of experience. Extreme stability with almost friction free movement from the new bearing assemblies, guarantees to gather more information from your vinyl records than ever before.
Rega Planar 3 Elys comes with a clear acrylic dust cover and a high-quality mat.
