Pro-Ject X2B
High-End turntable at a great price
Pro-Ject X2B shares a lot of features and design with less expensive X1B, but differs in quite a few, substantial ways. The platter is 30 mm thick and weighs a whopping 2 kilos, helping to stabilize rotation speed and. The tonearm is 9" long, compared to 8.6" on the X1 - This results in a higher mass that's less susceptible to resonance and harmful vibrations. The main bearing is made from stainless steel, rather than a steel/brass combo on the XB.
Pro-Ject‘s classic turntable design reimagined and lifted to new price/ performance heights! In 1991 Pro-Ject started a revolution in HiFi with the introduction of the Pro-Ject 1 turntable. A new high-end, low budget turntable at a time when CD was king. Against all odds, they were creating interest in analogue audio at a time when others were turning their backs, and the success was only down to three critical philosophies: Simple yet technically correct design, High-quality valuable materials, Fully handcrafted by expert engineers, made in the EU
There are no fancy, unnecassary features; it was a strictly manual turntable design and all of these decisions resulted in unbelievable sound at a fantastic price. The X2B is based on the same concept as the P1, but improved in every aspect thanks to modern materials and new production methods.
