Pro-Ject Debut PRO B
Celebrate Pro-Ject's 30th anniversary with the Debut PRO turntable
Pro-Ject has taken their best-selling turntable, the Debut, and turned it up to 11, delivering a balanced PRO version that raises performance to a new level.
Quality, inside and out
With the launch of Debut EVO in 2020, Pro-Ject revolutionized the series that secured its place in the audio industry years ago. Pro-Ject Debut PRO B raises the bar once more but does not forget its roots. Here the focus is on quality materials throughout the construction. If you find a piece of plastic on Debut PRO B, it means there hasn't been a viable alternative. Everything is made of wood, metal, and carbon fiber to create a turntable that can delight you with music today and tomorrow and many years into the future.
Pro-Ject hybrid tonearm with VTA adjustment
Pro-Ject Debut PRO B is fitted with an 8.6" tonearm made of carbon fiber and aluminum. The arm tube is made of aluminum to ensure a damping effect with minimal risk of resonance. The carbon fiber layer is crucial for the high stiffness of the arm. This new tonearm also allows fine adjustment of azimuth (horizontal balance) and VTA (vertical tracking angle). The adjustments mean that you can achieve the optimal setting for the vast majority of phono cartridges regardless of height or use an extra-thick mat. That's just one of the things that makes this edition of the Debut turntable a 'PRO.' It also comes with a Pro-Ject Pick-It PRO balanced cartridge, manufactured in collaboration with Danish Ortofon.
Decoupled motor for optimal sound quality
The electronically controlled motor on the Debut PRO B ensures precise revolutions at both 33 and 45 RPM. A special drive belt is also included for playing 78 RPM records - note, however, that this requires a particular cartridge. The motor uses a new construction suspended and decoupled from the plinth to avoid vibrations that would otherwise impact the sound. The turntable stands on three height-adjustable feet, ensuring an optimal setting and reducing the risk of speakers' acoustic feedback. Another part that, in this context, is crucial for optimal performance is the platter. It is cast in aluminum and undergoes precision balancing in production. On the inside, the platter is equipped with a ring of TPE, a kind of rubber that counteracts resonance.
Pro-Ject Debut PRO B is a clear contender if you're looking to upgrade or looking to invest in your first turntable and want the best performance from the start. It comes with a dust cover and several accessories for setup.
Note: Record Puck PRO, the stabilizing disc pictured, is not included.
