The Planar 2 model was developed alongside the Planar 3, and takes a few key-features from that design. Rega Planar 2 comes with a high-quality RB220 tonearm and a brand-new 24V low-noise motor. The acrylic laminated plinth houses the newly designed central bearing. It also features the 10mm thick Optiwhite glass platter, like the one on Planar 3, though slightly thinner. Each feature of the Planar 2 is designed to extract the maximum amount of information from your vinyl records.

 

Rega's RB220 tonearm is packed with new features that enhance its performance and improves user friendliness with a very simple setup. The tonearm is housed within a newly designed, stiffer and lightweight bearing housing. This was developed with a new updated adjustable bias setting, allowing for greater flexibility and compatibility with a wide range of phono cartridges. The new housing also includes an integrated arm clip and uses Rega's latest custom aluminum arm tube. The Rega Planar 2 comes with the Audio-Technica manufactured Carbon cartridge, ready to play straight out of the box.

 

Please note that if your amplifier does not have dedicated phonostage, you will need an external phono pre-amplifier.
