C.E.C. DA SL
Reference-class DAC
The DA SL is the perfect partner for the TL2N and a DAC from the very top shelf of the market. Here you get CEC’s own Superlink input, which provides the advantages of USB data transfer without having to live with the noise of the USB standard.
Superlink uses four coaxial connections: a Master Clock, which sends the clock to the CD transport and ensures perfect synchronization of data transfer; a Bit Clock output, which sends bit clock signals used for identifying bits such as sample rate frequency; an L/R Clock, which receives identification clock signals from the CD transport; and finally, the Data output, which sends the audio data from the transport to the DAC. If this sounds like overkill, you need to hear the result – it is far superior to what a standard coaxial signal can deliver. The dynamics, transparency, and level of detail are in a completely different league, and if you want to reach yet another level of perfection, you can simply add an extra Word Clock generator, and your Superlink connection will now deliver even more nuances and greater precision in the music.
Like CEC’s transports, the DA SL is functionally fully balanced, making the most of its ESS Hyperstream ES9028PRO DAC chip. Naturally, the entire unit is packed with ultra-high-quality components, and the entire analog stage around the ES9028PRO chip has been specially developed to extract every drop of openness and clarity from it.
