The compact 210 Streamer from Meridian Audio may not look like much, but it delivers performance and sound quality that outshines many other products, even those that are significantly more expensive. That’s why the Meridian 210 has become a staple in our high-end setups in the store.
Designed for High-End Meridian Speakers
This streamer is primarily designed to be used with Meridian Audio's speakers, some of which cost tens of thousands of Euros. It features Meridian’s SpeakerLink connection on the back, making it the perfect match for those who own a set of their speakers with SpeakerLink. However, even for those who don't have such a setup, the 210 Streamer is still a very interesting product. In addition to SpeakerLink, it also has a coaxial S/PDIF output that can connect to a standard DAC or digital input on an amplifier.
Streaming at the Highest Level with Roon
The Meridian 210 Streamer doesn't have the widest selection of built-in streaming services. In fact, it only integrates Spotify Connect. However, it also supports Bluetooth aptX HD, allowing you to wirelessly stream music from a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Additionally, it is DLNA-compatible, so you can use it as a player within any DLNA software or app. But how do you get the very best out of this streamer? – It requires a bit extra, but if you're determined to have the best streaming solution in its price range, this is the way to go. In our store, we use a Roon Core (server) on our network to manage our local music collection. Through Roon, you can also set up Tidal or Qobuz (or both) and simply stream and control these services via Roon. We use Qobuz because, in our opinion, its sound quality is superior. The Meridian 210 Streamer is Roon-certified, meaning it can act as an endpoint in a Roon setup. Essentially, this means that all the music available through Roon can be streamed over the network to the Meridian 210 Streamer. It might sound a bit complicated, but it really isn't.
