Revival Audio Atalante 7 Évo
A serious standmount speaker for a true gentleman’s setup
There are speakers – and then there are speakers. The Revival Audio Atalante 7 Évo most definitely belongs in the latter category, and if you know a bit about hi-fi, you’ll understand what that means. The Atalante 7 is not designed to discreetly blend in among your Ilva furniture, nor is it shaped to be a sculptural statement full of bold curves and angles. On the other hand, it’s not conservative in the traditional sense either – it’s simply designed to be a speaker. A speaker built with pride in craftsmanship. In other words, it’s made to captivate you – to make you forget everything except the speaker itself and, despite its impressive size, disappear into the room as the music emerges in its full, raw, and authentic character.
Full-Blown Full-Range
And the Atalante 7 has every reason to be confident, because its considerable volume provides a fantastic foundation for creating a full-range speaker capable of reproducing music with the dynamics, sound pressure, and emotion it was meant to convey. The large 15-inch BSC woofer, which includes the mineral *basalt* extracted from volcanic rock, ensures bass reproduction all the way down to 23 Hz at full frequency level – and without a hint of compression. It’s the same type of driver used in its little brother, the Atalante 5, but the bass reflex port here is reinforced with aluminum for more accurate bass dynamics. And when you compare the two speakers side by side, you’ll immediately hear that the low end has a completely different character. The Atalante 7 plays significantly deeper, warmer, more powerful – with the same authority as an oil tanker in a marina.
Newly Developed RASC ÉVO Drivers
Even though the bass is in a league of its own, the biggest technical difference lies higher up in the frequency range – and that’s the reason behind the “Évo” in its name. The Atalante 7 uses Revival Audio’s new RASC Évo drivers, where the tweeter features an anti-resonant dome that absorbs more than 97% of internal resonance, resulting in significantly clearer and more airy reproduction of high-frequency transients. The midrange driver receives the same treatment plus a dual suspension system, absorbing nearly as much resonance and ensuring that midrange and treble flow together seamlessly and effortlessly.
A Pure Speaker Ideal
The Atalante 7 Évo is practically the prototype of what a speaker *should* be – an ideal for those who value simplicity, solid build quality, and ultimate musicality without distractions or limitations on what you can play and enjoy. Its only real limit is your room, and the Atalante 7 *can* and *should* be used in a room of considerable size, where it can truly stretch its legs. In return, you’ll get incredible musical experiences from one of the world’s only full-range speakers built with the goal of delivering the most musically authentic performance possible.
