The design of the Climate series is based on Monitor Audio Group’s ‘Transparent Design’ philosophy, which emphasizes both product design and audio performance. Designed for weather
The speakers in the Monitor Audio Climate 3G series are versatile and can be used in a wide range of scenarios. First and foremost, it should be mentioned that these speakers are made to withstand rain, wind and more. Monitor Audio has designed them with a sealed enclosure, ensuring that the components inside are not exposed to water, moisture, or dust. The cabinet is made of ABS thermoplastic molded in one piece and reinforced with fiberglass. There is no reflex port. Instead, Monitor Audio has equipped the Climate 3G with an elongated passive bass radiator mounted on the rear. This contributes to improved and increased reproduction in the lower frequency range, without compromising the sealed cabinet.
Monitor Audio Hi-Fi-tier performance
The Climate CL2 M is a 2-way speaker, equipped with a 1” C-CAM tweeter and a 6” C-CAM RST II mid-bass driver. Monitor Audio has been a leader in the development and production of metal cone drivers for decades, and the second generation of RST technology is better than ever. The Gold Dome C-CAM tweeter has been synonymous with Monitor Audio since its introduction in 1988 and guarantees detailed, airy, and authentic reproduction. The CL2 M is equipped with a special edition of the tweeter, which instead of the gold color, is coated with a discreet black finish.
Versatile install options
Monitor Audio Climate 3G speakers can be wall or ceiling mounted via the included bracket, which also allows for concealed cable routing. Once the speaker is mounted, it can be rotated 180 degrees in 11.25-degree increments. Horizontal mounting allows for up and down adjustment, and vertical mounting allows for right and left adjustment.
IP66 rated
The sealed cabinet has enabled Monitor Audio to get the speakers certified with an IP66 rating, which is among the highest awarded to weather-resistant products. IP stands for ‘Ingress Protection’ and the two 6s indicate the level of protection against dust and water respectively. 6 is the highest classification for dust protection. For water protection, the speaker has passed a test where 100 liters of water per minute is sprayed directly on the speaker for at least 3 minutes, with a pressure of 15 psi at 3 meters.
