Brand-new and groundbreaking technology from Dynaudio

 The Dynaudio Evoke 20 is a highly capable compact speaker on the larger side, equipped with a powerful 18 cm woofer/midrange driver that can move plenty of air. Despite its impressive performance in the low-frequency range, it also ensures reference-class midrange reproduction. The 18 cm Esotec woofer/midrange driver is made from MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer), a proprietary material Dynaudio has used for decades, even in its high-end models. This 0.4 mm thin diaphragm provides the perfect combination of lightness, stiffness, and damping. Combined with the new ceramic Ferrite+ magnet system, it delivers a seamless blend of midrange and low frequencies. The entire diaphragm is constructed as a single piece of MSP. Unlike conventional designs that glue a dust cap onto the diaphragm or leave a hole in the center, this integrated design stiffens the driver significantly, reducing physical distortion. It also creates a much better physical connection to the voice coil, ensuring greater energy transfer via the ribs around the center of the diaphragm.

The woofer/midrange driver features a 52 mm aluminum voice coil, chosen over copper for its optimal combination of low-frequency power and detailed midrange reproduction. A Nomex spider keeps everything centered, while the new Contour-inspired suspension allows for greater excursion and more impactful performance. To make it easier to integrate the Evoke 20 into your listening space, Dynaudio includes dual-part foam plugs for the bass port, allowing you to choose between open, partially open, or closed configurations.

A taste of the high-end Confidence series

The woofer/midrange isn’t the only new development in the Evoke series. The tweeter, named Cerotar, is a brand-new design based on technology from the award-winning Esotar Forty and the outstanding Esotar 3 found in the high-end Confidence series. As expected from Dynaudio, this is a 28 mm soft-dome tweeter. The silk dome is precision-coated in specific areas to optimize high-frequency performance, a process derived directly from Dynaudio’s finest models. Behind the dome is an innovative new technology called Hexis, an internal dome that shapes the airflow to smooth the frequency response and eliminate unwanted resonances. The tweeter is also powered by a ceramic Ferrite+ magnet system, enhancing sensitivity, resolution, and natural dynamics.

It’s a “hygge” thing...

Dynaudio’s design team traveled across Denmark, visiting model homes, furniture stores, and typical Danish residences to perfect the design of the Evoke 20. The goal was to envision these speakers in a variety of living spaces—because, after all, that’s where people listen to music the most. On the sofa, with a cup of coffee and a cat... these speakers are made for “hygge.” The cabinets feature elegantly rounded corners and a subtly tapered shape inspired by the Contour and Confidence series. The drivers are mounted with hidden screws for a clean and refined appearance. Since great design never goes out of style, you can be confident that the Evoke 20 will look just as good in 30 years as it does today while you’re still enjoying them.
