Integrated Amplifier
With the Vibelink Amp, WiiM has created an integrated amplifier that is the perfect match for the brand’s streamers. Specifically, its physical form and size make it an obvious companion for the WiiM Ultra streamer, though smaller models like the WiiM Pro can also be connected to the Vibelink Amp. The amplifier features a trigger input, allowing for integrated operation between the streamer and amplifier.
DAC from ESS Technology
Compared to the WiiM Amp, which combines both an amplifier and streaming in one unit, the Vibelink is a more traditional amplifier solution that omits all streaming functions while retaining digital inputs. It includes both an optical TosLink and a coaxial S/PDIF input, allowing digital connection to your streamer, with the amplifier’s built-in DAC handling the signal processing. The digital-to-analog conversion is managed by a top-tier chipset from ESS Technology—specifically, the Sabre ES9038Q2M, which is the same DAC found in the WiiM Amp Pro. In addition to digital inputs, the rear panel also features a pair of analog RCA inputs. These can be used to connect a turntable, but keep in mind that the turntable must have a built-in RIAA preamp or an external one between the amplifier and the turntable, as the Vibelink does not include a built-in phono stage.
200 watts of cool class-D amplification
The amplifier section of the Vibelink is a Class-D design based on chipsets from Texas Instruments, including a TPA3255 amplifier circuit and four OPA1612 operational amplifiers. The use of Class-D technology allows for a compact amplifier that still delivers a solid output power. In the Vibelink Amp, this means you get 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms, doubling to 200 watts per channel at 4 ohms. If you look at the back panel, you may notice that the Vibelink Amp does not have standard speaker terminals. Instead, it features banana plug inputs, which is important to keep in mind when selecting speaker cables, as bare wire connections cannot be secured directly to the amplifier.
