The Parasound P6 combines a 32-bit ESS Sabre DAC with an MM/MC RIAA pre-amplifier, as well as the use of top-tier internal components! In this price range, Parasound has always been able to build truly market-leading pre-amplifiers, and the P6 is no exception! With a completely new ESS Sabre DAC at the heart of the digital section, the sound has been significantly upgraded compared to its predecessor, the P5. However, the P6 keeps the best analog traits alive, maintaining its status as a true analog pre-amplifier, with careful attention to circuits and components.
In addition to a wealth of digital inputs and an impressive MM and MC RIAA pre-amplifier, you will also find analog inputs (both single-ended and balanced), as well as Parasound's specialty: subwoofer and pre-out with built-in crossover, which also divides your passive speakers! This allows perfect integration with a subwoofer if you choose to add one or two to your setup. The Parasound P6 is also an extremely successful pre-amplifier in terms of sound quality, contributing warmth, natural smoothness, and a power supply that easily handles even demanding power amps. This ensures excellent integration between the pre-amplifier and power amplifier, and is often much more important for a sense of dynamics, headroom, and deep bass, as the pre-amplifier needs to have a firm grip on the power amp.
