The Lumin U2 is their larger streaming transport, which improves on virtually every aspect of the performance of the Lumin U2 Mini, giving you a formidable sound experience. To underline the quality of the technology, it's packed into an all-in-one CNC-milled chassis that gives the electronics the best opportunities to perform optimally – and it looks pretty good, doesn't it?
A pretty face doesn’t cut it, however, and fortunately the Lumin U2 also has a welcoming personality in the form of a clear and attractive app offering access to Spotify, Qobuz and internet radio, and Airplay as well as Roon is also available. Lumin U2 supports DSD files up to DSD512, just as it processes the digital signal internally in up to 32-bit/768 kHz to ensure as few rounding errors as possible and an ultra-precise digital reproduction of the music.
Good components are worth nothing without a proper power supply, and Lumin has naturally not skimped here either. The Lumin U2 uses a high-quality linear power supply that ensures an even and clean voltage supply, which gives a significantly cleaner, quieter, and more dynamic sound image, and an oversized toroidal transformer ensures that it is always able to deliver the required amount of power.
Lumin U2 has also been created with a powerful, built-in processor that provides more flexibility in sound processing and more options in the long term with future formats and updates. You can expect a calm, precise and controlled sound with a wealth of details, deep and precise bass as well as a delicious crispness and nice musical coherence that really emphasize that it is a streaming transport in the high-end class.
