Dynaudio Contour 30i
High-end floorstanding speakers
The Contour 30i builds on the smaller Contour 20i by adding an extra driver, an additional bass reflex port, and a larger cabinet. The tweeter has also been upgraded to the Esotar 2i with the Hexis dome. Notably, the tweeter has reclaimed its position above the mid-bass driver, after being relocated to the lower part of the baffle in the Contour S3.4 from the previous series. The speaker features two 18 cm Nomex MSP (Magnesium Silicate Polymer) drivers, designed and developed entirely in-house by Dynaudio. This material is exceptionally stiff, incredibly lightweight, and offers outstanding damping properties. In these newly developed drivers, the diaphragm is constructed with variable thickness across its surface, enabling extremely fast and high performance. The voice coil in the new MSP drivers is wound with aluminum instead of traditional copper, making it much lighter and allowing for larger designs. Larger diameters and windings result in greater control over the driver, which translates to better sound performance, especially at high volumes.
'i’ is for Improved
Dynaudio has gone the extra mile to enhance one of the best speaker series they’ve ever produced. The “i” in Contour 30i signifies “improved,” and the latest iteration of the Contour series lives up to that promise. During the development of the new Confidence series, Dynaudio engineers gained valuable insights, which they decided to apply to the Contour series—not out of necessity, but because they wanted to leverage this newfound knowledge in a more accessible range. So, what exactly has changed? Every model in the Contour series now features the updated Esotar 2i tweeter, which incorporates the ingenious Hexis dome inside. Additionally, the rear chamber size has been increased. These changes reduce distortion and enhance overall sound quality. The Contour 30i also boasts two updated Nomex mid-bass drivers, which visually resemble their predecessors but are made from a new material. Dynaudio’s engineers spent countless hours in the listening room fine-tuning the new design, and the results speak for themselves. The cabinet has seen minimal changes, as it was already exemplary. However, the internal damping has been optimized using techniques inspired by the Evoke and Confidence series.
Classic Dynaudio – Classic Contour
Since the first Contour speaker debuted in 1989, the series has held a special place in the hearts of audiophiles. It’s cherished not only by dealers but also by the countless Dynaudio Contour owners worldwide, who don’t just listen to these speakers—they become part of the music. This is what it’s all about. A speaker should disappear from the equation, leaving only the music. Achieving this requires the speaker to be present, but it mustn’t make itself known. It’s the final link in the chain before the music reaches your ears, and it’s the most critical component of any hi-fi system. With the Dynaudio Contour 30i, you’re transported directly into the recording studio—face-to-face with the artist, ear-to-instrument, with the final veil lifted. It’s a perfect union of the joy of creating music and the joy of experiencing it.
The New Contour Series – Enhanced by World-Class Craftsmanship
The new Contour series from Dynaudio refines an already fantastic range of speakers with updated design, advanced technology, and entirely new drivers crafted by the world’s leading speaker manufacturer in Skanderborg, Denmark. Every component, from magnets to voice coils and even the adhesives holding the parts together, has been reimagined. The front baffle is also brand new. Previously made from cast iron in a rugged, angular design, it’s now crafted from aluminum with smooth contours. This not only enhances aesthetics but also improves performance thanks to the material’s high rigidity.
World-Class Quality from Denmark
Dynaudio is globally recognized for its speakers, and one thing customers frequently praise is the outstanding build quality. Dynaudio manufactures everything in-house, a rarity among speaker producers today. The cabinets for Dynaudio speakers, including the Contour series, are crafted by highly skilled artisans. Each cabinet takes up to two weeks to complete, with woodworking, lacquering, sanding, and polishing conducted under the strictest quality standards.
