KLH Model Seven
Retro-inspired floorstanding speakers
KLH Model Seven is a pair of speakers for the mature music enthusiast who has grown tired of clinical sound. The question is not: “Why are my speakers so large?” The real question is: “What do you think happens when an orchestra or rock band is expected to live inside speakers the size of an iPhone box?” When Henry Kloss helped found KLH in 1957 on the east coast of the United States, speakers of this size were not unusual — they were the standard, and there were very simple reasons for making them this large. Today, they almost seem like the complete opposite of the compact speakers commonly found in our living rooms, yet the philosophy has not changed at all: music must be allowed to breathe and live, and small drivers pushed too hard create stressed and constrained sound.
Music reproduction with weight and scale
KLH Model Seven could be called their flagship model, but perhaps it is more accurate to call it an entry point — an entry point into music reproduced with the scale, size, emotion, and intensity the musicians originally intended. KLH has started from a sensible foundation: keeping things simple. This is a three-way design featuring a massive 13-inch woofer housed in a large sealed cabinet, resulting in a level of bass precision, nuance, and rhythmic authority that smaller bass reflex speakers simply cannot match. You experience the scale, weight, and artistic intent in a completely different way.
True musicality - deep to the core
With elegant, clean lines inspired by classic American 1950s design, KLH Model Seven instinctively encourages you to relax and settle into the listening chair with a glass of bourbon or red wine while waiting for the turntable stylus to touch the opening groove of your favorite LP. These are speakers that create the calm needed for music to truly come alive — the silence before the chills run down your spine as the opening strings strike in “Money For Nothing” or the drums march in on “Hotel California.” In reality, KLH is neither “retro” nor “vintage” - it is simply authentic. Authentic all the way to the bone, all the way to that place where music feels exactly right. Supplied complete with matching stands.
