Audio is a huge part of the movie experience - just try and watch a movie with the sound turned off. Chances are you won't make it through to the end. As with stereo, the surround audio experience relies heavily on the quality of your speaker setup. Fortunately the Contour series from Dynaudio offers a full, immersive sound experience, with a beast of a center-channel speaker.
The Contour 25Ci is basically a tipped over Contour 30i, with the tweeter rearranged to the center position. The extremely detailed Esotar2i soft-dome tweeter with the Hexis dome to reduce resonance, is flanked by a pair of 18cm MSP drivers with light-weight, aluminum voice coil. The drivers are identical to the ones found in the Contour 20i as well as the 30i, including the asymmetrical rapid spider for total, system-wide consistency. The tweeter uses magnetic ferrofluid technology, exactly as the rest of the Contour range. The quality of the center channel speaker in a surround sound setup, is absolutely crucial to its combined performance.
An enormous part of a multi-channel audio stream, is concentrated around the center-channel, with as much as 70% of the audio rendered by this. The Contour 25Ci delivers enormous clarity, with authentic and life-like rendition of everything from voices to ambient sounds.
