Anthem MRX 740 8K with Anthem Room Correction Genesis
One of the key features that initially elevated Anthem among the AV stars was their ARC calibration, or Anthem Room Correction. This room correction feature was directly borrowed from their high-end AV processors and provided extremely effective correction of unwanted reflections and time delays. ARC is very much present in the MRX 40-series and is now better than ever. ARC Genesis is the most advanced room correction you’ll find in an integrated AV receiver, but that doesn't mean you need to know everything about acoustics and room measurements. ARC Genesis on the Anthem MRX 740 8K is quite easy to use, and you can run their calibration software on both Mac and Windows computers. The software has been upgraded in several ways, including more options for adjusting the target curve, improved algorithms, and much more. It might sound like something difficult to get started with, but that’s not the case. Much of the calibration can be run automatically, so you’ll make great progress with room correction. If you have a more technical approach, you can, of course, make manual adjustments. The receiver comes with a calibrated measurement microphone.
HDMI 2.1 with 8K
On the video side, the receiver supports pass-through of 8K60 and 4K/120 UHD video with Dolby Vision, HDR, and Hybrid Log Gamma. Additionally, it supports VRR and ALLM.
Top-Class Sound in Multichannel and Stereo
In terms of audio, the Anthem MRX is also at the forefront, with decoding of common sound formats, including object-based formats such as DTS:X and Dolby Atmos. One of Anthem’s strengths, compared to AV receivers from other manufacturers, is their remarkable reproduction of two-channel sound, especially music in stereo! Thanks in part to the ARC room correction, the MRX receivers excel at music. Anthem has added new features to the 40-series for those who also listen to music on their receiver. You now get both Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast, as well as Bluetooth 4.2. Spotify Connect will be offered with a future update, as will ROON compatibility, so the receiver can be used with the amazing ROON software, which manages music libraries on your local network.
Remote Configuration via Web User Interface
Anthem MRX receivers can now be accessed via a web user interface, allowing you to log into the receiver via a browser on your computer, phone, or tablet. You can turn the receiver on, adjust sound settings, configure network settings, and much more. This makes it extra easy to configure the receiver without needing the remote control to navigate through menus on the TV screen.
Design Changes in the New 40-Series
One of the most obvious changes in the new 40-series MRX receivers is undoubtedly the design. Anthem has taken inspiration from the integrated stereo amplifier STR. You get an easy-to-read display with a minimal set of buttons on the front, and a volume control. It’s aesthetically simple and user-friendly.
Integration with Third-Party Control Systems
Anthem MRX receivers can be integrated into a variety of third-party control solutions such as Control 4, Savant, Crestron, and more, via IP Control. > **See More Surround Receivers**
